On January 24, 1959, there was formed the branch of Moscow Institute called the State Specialized Projecting Institute-3, which was later renamed into “Hyprochlor”. Now the Moscow Institute ceased to exist, and “Hyprochlor” Ltd. became the only Russian Institute which helped to project and build the chlorine and caustic soda productions on such enterprises as “Usolyekhimprom” Ltd., Bratsk Chlorine Plant, “Sayansk ChemPlast” OJSC., Kemerovo “Khimprom” OJSC., Novocheboksarsk “Khimprom” OJSC. and Javanese Electrochemical Plant (Tajikistan). Due to the Irkutsk design engineers there were built a lot of new pulp and paper industry’s enterprises, such as the famous paper producer - Kotlass PPM, as well as Ust-Ilimsk Forest Industry Complex, Arhangelsk and Sovetsk PPMs.
Our Institute has experts of various fields: there are technologists, experts of control and measuring instruments, experts of automatic process control system, electricians, designers etc. The Institute specializes on the project from placing the object on the plot of ground to building and running the plant. The Institute also exercises the designer supervision. The main object of our Institute is not only the chlorine and caustic soda production, but also the production of sodium chlorate (“Ilimkhimprom” CJSC. is working according to our project), production of chlorine dioxide (which is used by many of PPMs), pouring of liquid chlorine in small packages (is used by a lot of enterprises). We were the only Institute which dealt with storaging of liquid chlorine in tanks and small packages, as well as the production of calcium chloride, zinc chloride, ferric chloride, silicon tetrachloride and hydrochloric acid.
